Enter the Carry Me! Handbag Design Competition to win a first prize of $5000, or one of two runner-up prizes, each $1000. Our plan is to create prototypes of the winning designs and exhibit them alongside Caryn Scheidt’s collection of Lucite® vintage handbags at a special event we are working on in New York City in 2010.
Lucite International, owner of LuciteLux™, the world-famous acrylic brand, is inviting US and Canada based students and designers to design a contemporary handbag which could ultimately be made using its beautiful range of materials.
We are looking for a modern interpretation of the Lucite vintage handbags, which first appeared on celebrities arms’ in the 1950s, to help us celebrate 75 years of the iconic brand that has helped shape the 21st century. Your ideas can be presented on paper as visuals or as a 3D model using everyday materials to convey your design thinking.
